Percentage is the numeric ratio expressed as a fraction of 100. It is denoted by the percent sign (%), and is used to express how large or small a number is in proportion to another number. The first number usually represents a part of the second number, which is also called a whole.
The most common and easiest way to calculate a percentage is by multiplying the numeric value of the ratio (part devided by whole) by 100. For example, to find 5 marbles as a percentage of 50 marbles, first compute the ratio, 5/50 = 0.1, and then multiply by 100 to get 10%. Another way of calculating is by multiplying 5 by 100 to give 500, and this result would be divided by 50 to give 10%.
Percent to Number :
1) ( a / 100) * b = c Where: a = percentage b = whole c = part of whole
